We are really happy about the database functionality and starting to use it more frequently and more embedded in our processes.
We would love to use Confluence databases as reporting tool for the following use case:
A user reports via Jira Service Desk a damage regarding our pool vehicles which are assets in Jira Service Management. In order to get an easy overview for every user about damages and malfunctions we would love to set up an automatically updated database in Confluence.
The databse is created and set up with the proper JQL. But the entries in the database are not automatically inserted.
Do we miss a functionality or is it just not meant to be?
Thanks for all your help in advance!
@MF you can change the JQL when you "import" again in the database menu like @Kerrie Gottschalk mentioned. but it kills any other, additional information.
For now, we just used the URL of a filter and set up the columns afterwards. But then we can't display referenced assets.
From our tests: this is a one time import while creating the database - as we´ve checked this out, there wasn´t also a possibility to change the JQL afterwards (don´t know if this has changed)

We've discovered the same. If you want to load the latest information, you can use the same JQL, but it will eliminate your original database. I hope syncing will be a feature in the future. For now, we are relying on the Jira Issues macro in table format, which is not interactive.
