Check out what's new: it's easier to select what you need in databases

Several of you told us it was too difficult to delete an entry or to delete several rows and columns at once, so we fixed it 👏🏽.

What’s new in databases:

  1. Select a row or column with 1 click

Hover on a row or column and click on the drag handle in the middle to highlight it.

  1. Select multiple rows (or columns)

Select the drag handle, hold down shift on your keyboard, and select the rows you want to highlight.

  1. Quickly delete rows and columns

Press the trash can icon in the toolbar on top to delete your selection.

We'd love to know if it's easier to update and maintain your databases now? What can we make even better?

That's great, @Divya Sriram ! Finally the Confluence ability to delete multiple pages in one strike!! Never seen before...

Concerning your question: What can we make even better? - these are my suggestions:

I would like to share a Confluence use case with you with which we won 2 awards in Washington in 2015: dynamic case management. It has been published in a book - I can share the chapter with you. It is a practice for "any team" - completely in the spirit of the work management strategy of Atlassian. In those times, I worked with page properties and labels to get things done, but with databases this is so much easier and, in my humble opinion, revolutionary, and worth a generic Confluence template.
If interested, ping me.

Love the list Filip - finally got a chance to respond to all of them. Responding to a few here:

  • immediate saving of changes: yes!! we've already rolled this out in our Beta experience
  • bugs on sorting of dates: we'll look into this when our team has bandwidth
  • a formula field: curious to know if quick calculations at the end of each row or column is the level of "formulas" you're looking for? For example:
  • we are looking into building out templates for databases - would love to know if there are specific templates that would be most helpful
    • but when you say "create database in templates using copy structure" - what exactly does the flow look like here/what are you trying to accomplish, I want to make sure I'm following
  • AI and databases: yes. we're figuring out at the high level where to add most value, but yes!
  • bulk change - we're on it, we'll work on this shortly
  • default values in fields: what would you expect the default values to be / would you want this to be configurable for each column?

FYI: we will be migrating our EAP instances to Beta shortly & closing the gap on the differences that exist today between EAP and Beta (for example: supporting media like images, referencing entries/values).
