How can you create a link to download a file?

Since the new Confluence Cloud editor update, many things have changed.

I type text, select it, hit the anchor button in the toolbar. The new dialogue only allows me to select pages, paste a web link or search for pages. Where is the option to specify the link should be for downloading a file, followed by a prompt for me to upload the file?

Alternatively, check out the Blog Posts Macro.  I'm not as familiar with the Content by Label macro that @Nils Bier (K15t Software) suggests but I believe they will both serve your purpose.

Rather than using Confluence Query Language (CQL), which may be preferable to some users, the Blog Posts macro has a defined set of parameter fields to choose from including time frame, labels and authors.

Instead of placing different blog posts on the same page - which certainly can be accomplished with the Blog Posts Macro as well,  and is the best choice for some use cases - we use it also to separate blogposts (perhaps because they have different authors or are on different categories of subject matter) on different pages in the same space.

So, you have options!

Hi Anders,

have you tried using the Content by Label Macro? Since Confluence 5.8 you can define define to display pages (or blog post) with a certain label (using CQL).

Simply create multiple content by label macros on your page and define the type (e.g. blog) and the wanted labels to be displayed.

Hope that helps.

Best,
Nils
