Is it possible to subdivide an instance of Confluence

We have a lot of data in our confluence instance.  It covers a wide range of topics and categories.

I have a new use case for our confluence instance.  But a primary part of this use case involves good search results.

I need a way so that when uses are accessing confluence for my use case, search results will be limited to pages entered for my use case.

Is there a way to subdivide confluence to have a separate section from the rest (especially for searching)?  Kind of like a mulit-tenant solution?

This is a known bug in Confluence 4.0, see https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-23184. Please try the workaround provided in the bug report.
