If you choose to run Confluence as a service:The installer will create a dedicated user account, confluence, that will run the service. I already have ubuntu user lem which owns confluence postgres database. Should I assign confluence database to confluence user to avoid permission errors? or is there a way to clone confluence priveleges to lem?

Images 'breaking' after several days / weeks of being uploaded

Hi, some of the users in our organisation have reported that images have disappeared several weeks after they were uploaded.

Is there an error or any 'quirks' that anyone is aware of that causes images to break and no longer display?

Some of the documents are user guides that are needed for support so this is a big concern if the images will disappear without warning...

It's a good idea to have a dedicated user for the database for the application. You don't need to, but it makes a lot of sense to do it - you'll always know what the account is for and you can keep it simple and limit it to that one purpose.
