New project notification scheme defaults to "none"

When I create a new project in JIRA OnDemand, the notification scheme always defaults to 'none'. How do I get it to default to the Default Notification Scheem?

You don't - that's just the way it's coded.

I suspect you could add a spot of javascript to the banner to get it to default to something else, and you could always have a look at the core code and modify that.

It defaulted to the Default Notification Scheme in JIRA 4.4. Has this changed in 5.0?
