Legacy editor emoticons are suddenly and inconsistently huge

Does anyone know what has happened to the emoticons in the legacy editor? They are mostly appearing huge for us in every page. Some, however, still appear the standard size. If you navigate to the selection form, they all appear huge.

We have hundreds of pages containing the check marks. They now look poor and inconsistent.

@Kelvin Hill I noticed this myself last week and thought it was my eyes or my browser playing up! We now have a mix of sizes of emoticons on pages in a series that used to look nice and consistent, so the result now is very messy :-(
