Where is the Knowledge Base for Confluence Cloud?

Bob Sovers November 25, 2019

When I navigate to: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/

Then to "View Knowledge base" on that page, it takes me to:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb

Which is the Confluence knowledge base for Confluence Server v7.1

MOST of which does NOT apply to Confluence Cloud.

1) Atlassian has no Knowledge of Confluence Cloud....

2) It is being "fixed" (just like the page editor & a dog at the vet.)

Despite the breadcrumb saying "Confluence Server v7.1", the knowledgebase is in fact a collection of articles that relate to different or multiple version of Confluence (server and Cloud). e.g. https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/can-t-check-base-url-warning-in-confluence-6-1-or-later-884707131.html

There are more server related articles because that version has been around longer and has features not available in Cloud or need to be administered by Atlassian Support. Try searching for "Cloud" and you will find them.

However, when you look at the documentation, you get version / type specific guides. However, some aspects of the Cloud documentation is out of date while the new editor is being introduced.

Yes this has been my experience as well. The KB is not separated out between cloud/server. In my searches most of the articles apply and have been helpful. While it would be ideal to have the two separated out I'm not sure that would be the best solution. I would rather see a demarcation of what platform it applies to maybe a "this is for server...for cloud see this...". That said, I haven't been encumbered by the mixing of the two where KB is concerned. IMO, I prefer to see the efforts on ensuring the documentation is separate. While 5 years ago the deltas were not great today the platforms are quite different especially where the UI is concerned.
