New Quicklinks layout for News Board

News Board has a new layout, which includes a new "Quicklinks" tile.

Based on the default 3-column layout, this new layout for the News Board app includes a configurable tile in the top-right. This new feature automatically creates the links based on the first six links found on the selected source page.

If you set a standard emoji on a linked Confluence page, it will appear here. Links to Jira and other sites are indicated with the link icon.

To use the Quicklinks first select it as a layout (Configure > Layout).

Next click on the tile configuration button in the top-right of the Quicklinks tile:

From this dialog you can customise the tile title and pick your source page. Make sure all users can access this page for the tile to work.

If you have more than six links or want to provide additional information related to using the links provided, the tile also includes a link to the source page:

Known limitations - due to the way Confluence processes links for "human friendly" display, it may not always be possible to use them with the tile. This includes:

  • Links to Jira tickets
  • Links to content in different Confluence sites
  • Custom emojis are not yet supported through the API and are ignored
