We heard you! Swagger UI app accepts bigger files now πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Lots of you wrote in, saying you wanted to use the Swagger UI integration in Compass, but that you were hitting a payload size limit. Well... say no more.

You can now upload json files directly onto your component through the Swagger UI tab on your component πŸŽ‰ . Simply click "Swagger UI" on the left-hand panel on a component and drop a valid swagger.json file (or click on the file upload button to choose one).

The size limit for the UI drag-and-drop uploads is 3MB. (Note for the webtrigger, the payload limit is still 128kb.)

Let us know what you think! What else can we do to make this more useful for you?

@Katie Silver & team: Can someone comment how "public" these swagger configurations become once they've been added, as described, in the Swagger UI or via the webhook URL method (described inside of each component in Compass)?  Our team is considering these but not if our proprietary APIs become public.

Also, in the event the response is something like ~"everything is now publicly viewable" at "X" URL, are there plans to support private hosting or dynamically rendering the Swagger UI from a Swagger json or yaml file within a private repo path (e.g. private Bitbucket associated to the component)?

The swagger configuration remains private once you upload them to compass. Only people that has access to your site has access to the swagger files via compass UI.

And as for accessing via private repo path, its been discussed but I'm not sure where in the roadmap it fits. I'll leave it up to @Katie Silver to answer.

Thanks @Moinul !

@Adam Benfer , like Mo said, we've talked about other expansions to the Swagger UI app, but we don't have any changes roadmapped right now. With that said, the Compass roadmap is really flexible at the moment since we are in Alpha. So if you want to share more about your use case - what improvements would be helpful and why - I'd be happy to chat about it with you!

Feel free to add more detail here or book some time.
