Hi friends,
I’m writing today to tell you about an improvement to Compass scorecards: Scorecard Drafts. We know that it can take time to set up scorecards correctly. Determining the criteria and thresholds, and setting up data connections takes time. This can end up confusing component owners, who see a failing scorecard on their component but don’t know why it’s there, or can’t improve upon it. I am happy to tell you that we’ve made it easier to create scorecards, set them up correctly, and avoid notifying your component owners until you’re ready to share.
As of today, all scorecards will be created in the state “Draft.”
Draft scorecards are only visible in the scorecard list on the Health page, where you can also filter scorecards by status.
You can still apply scorecards in draft state to components and view results on the scorecard’s components tab, but they won’t appear on component overviews or send any notifications.
When you’re ready to share the scorecard with component owners, you can “Publish” the scorecard in a single click.
Published scorecards are visible on component overviews and send notifications when the status changes between Passing, At Risk or Failing.
FAQ:
Can I put a scorecard back in draft after publishing it? No, once a scorecard is published it can’t be moved back to draft.
Are there any restrictions to when I can publish a scorecard? No, you can publish at any time. However, we recommend connecting your criteria to data sources before publishing to avoid components getting stuck in error states.
Who can publish scorecards? Anyone on your site who has permission to create or edit scorecards can publish them too.
