Automatically applied scorecards now offer an option for manual deactivation from select components. This feature empowers component owners with greater control over which scorecards are applicable to their components.
Here are some reasons you might consider enabling deactivation for a scorecard:
An automatically applied scorecard may apply to some components that are outliers, potentially leading to an unnecessary negative impact on those components' health scores.
Scorecard owners can grant component teams the authority to apply the scorecard as they deem appropriate, without the need for it to be a strictly manually applied scorecard. By default, the scorecard will be in an applied state.
When a scorecard is deactivated for a component, it will no longer affect the component’s overall health. Conversely, the component will not contribute to the scorecard’s overall status.
Enabling this option (for automatic scorecards) :
You can set this option for automatic scorecards by checking the box in the Deactivation settings section when creating or editing this scorecard.
To deactivate an automatically applied scorecard for a component:
Go to the component’s Scorecards page in Compass.
Hover over the scorecard you want to deactivate.
Select More actions
> Deactivate
.
Select Confirm
on the confirmation dialog to confirm your action.
💡 This will keep track of who deactivated the scorecard and when this scorecard was deactivated for the component.
To reactivate a deactivated scorecard for a component:
Go to the component’s Scorecards page in Compass.
Select the Inactive
tab.
Select the deactivated scorecard you want to reactivate.
In the scorecard drawer, select Reapply scorecard
.
⚠️ If you choose to disable this option after certain components have opted to deactivate the scorecard, those components will remain deactivated. They will still have the ability to reactivate the scorecard at their discretion. However, no additional components will be allowed to deactivate the scorecard further.
⚠️ If your site contains role-based access control, only users authorized to apply or unapply scorecards for a component will have the ability to deactivate or reactivate a scorecard associated with that component.
