New Features for Compass users on your DevOps Journey - Guides and Visualizations are here!

G’day y’all!

Today we’re excited to announce two major changes we’re making to the Health portion of Compass to help every member of the Compass community get started on improving their DevOps practices.


We’ve spoken to many Compass customers, and many of you have felt unsure of where to start, what a healthy catalog looks like, or how to relate it back to your teams and organization. This week we’re addressing that by releasing three guides to help you get started with Compass:


The first three guides we’ve released focus on getting started with DevOps and setting up your catalog, tracking and improving delivery performance for your engineering teams, and our last guide focuses on setting up a healthy operations culture and insight into how Atlassian does it. We’ve also included some actions for you and your teams in each guide and will be adding more insights in the future.

Try out these guides today, and if there are other areas you want help with, please share them in the comments!


Here’s a new feature we’re extremely excited to announce: Visualizations for Scorecards! We’ve heard that it can be hard to figure out which Components need fixes, and we’re now excited to launch this feature!


Once you click into a Scorecard, you’ll see a visualization like the above - showing you a breakdown by Scorecard status on the left, and a breakdown by Criteria status on the right.

In the near future, we’ll be adding filters to the Scorecard Visualizations, so you can break down the list of components based on which Team(s) owns a component, Component Type, Tier, Scorecard Status, and being able to hone in on a particular criteria. You can now use this to find out which portion of components need improvements with a couple of clicks.

We’ll also add filters in many more places on Scorecard and Metric views.

I would also love to see an option to export the result to a CSV based on filters.
Use case: The upper management might need a list of components that are failing to certain criteria.
