Do you use GitLab self-hosted? Well I've got good news for you.

Hey everyone, just wanted to quickly announce that we released a new integration for all the GitLab self-hosted customers out there! Click on the Settings (gear) icon in the top right of Compass and choose "Incoming webhooks" to find our new GitLab self-managed incoming webhook which enables you to get build, deployment, and merge request events & metrics into Compass. Learn more here.

After creating the incoming webhook listener in Compass, you'll need to create a new webhook integration for a Project or Group in GitLab and choose to send "Deployment statuses", "Pushes", and "Workflow" webhooks. Any Compass component that links to a GitLab repository with the webhook setup will now start displaying Deployment events on the activity feed and several metrics like the number of currently open MRs or Deployment Frequency from GitLab 🎉

Try it out and let us know what you think!

Any update on supporting your own self hosted products? Data center Bitbucket / Bamboo?

Hey Phil, we should have support for Bitbucket Data Center out in the coming months. We need to add a first class "Pull Request" event type to Compass first and then the BB DC incoming webhook will be able to ingest PR events and metrics. Bamboo I don't have a solid timeframe to share at the moment, sorry.

Hi @Josh Campbell

Is there any update on that feature (support for Bitbucket Data Center/self-hosted)? I found the Jira ticket:
https://jira.atlassian.com/projects/COMPASS/issues/COMPASS-13

...but it's not clear when we should expect it.

Hey @Krzysztof Zimnicki I don't have an update on timing for this sorry :( The good news is that we now have the Pull Request event type I mentioned above! It's now a matter of prioritizing the work to build out the incoming webhook. I understand how important this is to you and other BB DC customers!

Hey Phil I don't have a firm ETA for you but we're hyper aware of the BBDC gap. There's a few reasons we haven't churned out the incoming webhook yet BUT we do have a script to help import components and for sending events from Bamboo. Not what you're looking for/expecting, I know, but perhaps it's of some help (would be great to know actually!). Best I can share right now is Medium confidence in getting some better BBDC support out in the first half of 2025.

Thanks @Josh Campbell for the scripts, I do have a question on the bamboo build one, do I need to sent 2 events? or can I just send the final event when it's finished?

You can just send the final one if you want!
