Create Jira issues from scorecards to improve your component health!

Hi all!

Patrick from the Compass team here to announce an exciting new feature for all - you can now bring the work you need to do to fix failing scorecards right into your Jira Software backlog! This makes is easier to get on top of your health without switching tools, as well as staying on top of your developer productivity and operational health during weekly rituals like sprint planning.

Internally we’ve learnt that the best way to improve the health of your components and teams is to include it in your backlog + sprints. You may also notice that we’ve added a column to the scorecard overview screen showing how long a component has been in it’s current status:

We’ll be adding more charts and visualisations of the scorecard score history data in time to come, so if you have ideas or requests for this or for the Jira issue create functionality please drop us a note below!

How can I get started with this today?

1. Go to any scorecard and find a component that needs attention.

2. Select + Create issue on the row for that Component

3. Fill in the dialogue to Create new issue. A summary is prefilled with some information about what component and which scorecard this issue involves, you can also fill in other fields for that issue.

4. Select Create when you’re satsified with the issue contents.

Now your teams can work on improving their health alongside delivery work in Jira!

Additionally when viewing a scorecard for a given component, you can see any linked Jira issue:
