Update #3 on the community kudos beta
Hello again, everyone, especially those who are new to the beta!
We have an exciting update for you, so buckle up. First things first, our program overview is here and has been updated! If this is your first time checking us out, you should start with the overview. You can also find all our previous beta updates here.
This update covers what's new since our last update.
New: This group is now open, so you do not need moderator approval to join or read the group content. This does not mean the beta is open to everyone; we are still in beta mode and kudos is still open to a limited number of people for the time being.
New: We may not be adding everyone, but 25,000 users (yep, that’s 25 with three zeroes) will be added to the beta next week. If you see new folks around, please welcome them warmly!
New: Badges for fighting crime spam have been released, available for moderators only.
New: It’s here! A kudos tab has been added to your community profile and the profiles of everyone enrolled in the beta.
Note: community hovercards look different if you are in the beta. The easiest way to tell if someone is enrolled is that beta users have their kudos points and level listed on their hovercard. To see any user’s hovercard, simply hover over their name anywhere on community:
From here, you can click on their name to be taken to their profile, where you can check out their Kudos tab.
Once you're on the Kudos tab, you can:
- Give kudos directly on the profile. This will avoid the currently clunky search experience, and also encourage folks to check out each other's profiles!
- See why you got kudos. Here is where you can now find a feed of who gave you kudos and why. On the profiles of others, you can see what they have been appreciated for! And the design even includes an aggregate count of how many kudos you've gotten in each category.
- See a list of all your completed challenges: And how you earned them
- Access the kudos FAQ: Click on the tooltip above your list of badges to access the FAQ. This will become more comprehensive over time.
We're excited to release this update and hope it really improves your experience! We are as always eager for feedback, so let us know what you think in the comments.
