@Randy O_Neal absolutely! Here is your thermometer and I'm hoping we don't fall behind over the weekend!
Another place you can always check is on the badge itself in the Challenges window. When you click on the challenge in your Kudos window, you will see how many we have left to get to 30,000. This is how I got my number of 7,284. 😉

An amazing milestone of 8,000 trees 🎉 but we have a bit of catching up to do after the weekend! Remember you can Like, Share, or RSVP to plant those trees, and drop your recommendations here. 😉

We had 105 users earn 5000 or more points in the last quarter! For each one of those amazing leaders, we will plant an additional 100 trees. Our tree tracker is now up to 73,799 historical trees planted, plus our current tally of 8,406.
Thank you for being amazing! Let's keep on planting those treeeeees. 🌳
@Monique vdBI see the motiviation behind this community event but maybe there's a clever way to do this without wasting so much time and energy. All those likes kinda defeat the purpose of the like feature. We fire tons of requests (especially since likes are broken 90% of the time and yield a 5xx server error) and waste energy on client and server side.
What if we produced something valuable instead and rewarded it with way more than just one tree? Like creating a really helpful post or interesting story, research and share how/if planting trees actually helps, do something in the real world and post some proof, and you plant 100 or 1k trees for that?
I think in terms of interaction with your platform quality beats quantity as well.
We definitely try to have a balance of initiatives. Some are about quantity, and scale, and discovery, and this is an example of one of those. (Likes should not be broken though, can you tell me what device, browser and version you're using?)
We have other initiatives that are about high-quality content. We have the Content Bounty program that is currently for Leaders only, but will soon be opening up to Rising Stars (you heard it here first). We're currently not planting trees as part of that, but that's a great thought too. Stay tuned and keep the ideas coming!

This video never ceases to bring a smile to my face when I think of forests being reseeded. A few years old now but definitely a good one. Hope some of you like it as well.
In Ethiopia, trees are planted in the Dawuro Zone, located in the heart of the Omo Valley of Ethiopia. In Brazil, there are three projects: reforesting mangrove estuaries in the Amazon, restoring native species in Caatinga forest, and planting in the Cerrado tropical savanna. In northern Haiti, the reforestation project is located where the Noir and Massif du Nord Mountain ranges meet the Artibonite Plains of Gonaives.
As a bonus, here is a picture of one of the projects we helped fund last year, in Kenya. Each one of those tiny trees was a Like! 🥰

And for those awaiting today's thermometer.... we are at over 9000 trees planted, and could cross the 10,000 tree mark today! Here's a feed of trending discussions for you to check out. 👍🏻 And don't forget we have a thread for tree spamming. Go team go!
Love the idea, hope we can also help America! The more new homes people want the more trees that need to be cut down. I just saw this in my own neighborhood. Breaks my heart!

@Dana A our partner, Eden Reforestation Projects, doesn't currently operate in the U.S. but if you know of any organizations that are doing good work, let me know! We love to spread the love.
