On my travels I have seen many different types of trees, one of my favourites was Mangroves and I had the opportunity in New Zealand to walk along a raised walkway between the trees then canoe back through the waterways surrounding them
We had to stop climbing the cherry tree when a particularly heavy cousin came to visit and on his attempt to climb the tree, the branch that we as children could reach broke off the tree and both branch and cousin left dents in the grass.
Having a daughter, and recently moving to a larger flat, we are now going to have to have the discussion about whether or not to have a real tree for Christmas
We recently took my daughter to a local park where fallen trees have been converted to tree stump stools or tree trunk benches and she was amazed by this and went home to redesign her bedroom to have a fairy tree trunk bed
A tree nearly killed me once; we were canoeing down a river in Wales and went one by one through some white water. Around the corner a tree had fallen down across the river and one by one we got stuck under it until the next person in line knocked us free. I was last in line and there was no-one to push me free so I remember looking up at the water flowing over my face and seeing the surface about 5 cm above me. Luckily for me the first person down saw that I hadn't come free and jumped in to pull me out.
@Stephen_Lugton I ain't never seen a Pohutukawas tree before and now I want one. Maybe there's a Lego version so I don't have to be concerned about killing it (or laws regarding importing that tree to VA).

And @Stephen_Lugton thanks for the 10-part thoughts on trees, nicely done! @Ronald Bergmann you were right about the stretch goal, we did need one, for the first time EVER. And @Dan Breyen and anyone else who did, thanks for suggesting bonus trees, YOU GOT IT.
