Hi Team,
please advise how to merge a pull request to a restricted branch with rest API 2.0?
Is it possible to add access to the restricted branch of the token?
Thank you
Hi Iuliia and welcome to the community!
I'm afraid that tokens cannot be added to branch restrictions.
If you want to merge via API into a restricted branch, you will need to use the username and an app password of a Bitbucket Cloud account that has permission to merge into that branch, with a call like the following:
curl --request POST \
--url 'https://api.bitbucket.org/2.0/repositories/workspace-id/repo-slug/pullrequests/23/merge' \
--user 'Bitbucket_Username:App_Password' \
--header 'Accept: application/json' \
--header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
--data '{
"message": "merge PR",
"close_source_branch": false,
"merge_strategy": "merge_commit"
}'
Kind regards,
Theodora
