Hi,

in my account workspace I use a password for accessing the account and to push/pull repos.

What if I need to assign a custom password to a project hosted in another workspace?

A workspace where I am a member with no admin auth.

Thank you for any help you could provide!

Hi @martinagi and welcome to the community!

The password of a Bitbucket Cloud account can be used only for logging in to the website.

The account's password can no longer be used for operations like cloning, pulling, and pushing via HTTPS. For these operations, you will need to generate an app password which can be used in combination with your Bitbucket username:

App passwords are not tied to a workspace, but to a user. If you generate an app password, you can use it with all the repositories your account has access to, regardless of the workspace where they belong.

It is not possible to generate an app password for one repository only; as I mentioned, the app password is tied to a user.

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know.

Kind regards,
Theodora
