fatal: repository not found

Teepers McGee September 17, 2019

Hey all,

I have a private repository hosted on bitbucket.org which I'm not able to clone on one of my machines.  I try to clone via https:

    git clone https://bbuser@bitbucket.org/project/project.git

I'm not being prompted for a password, and I immediately get:

  Cloning into 'project'...

  fatal: repository 'https://bbuser@bitbucket.org/project/project.git' not found

I've succesfully cloned this repo on another machine using the same command (I was prompted for a password), so I'm really not sure what's going on here.

Hi @Teepers McGee

After running some tests here we see that this message should only happen when the repository does not exist.

  • Can you please confirm if you are still able to clone this repo in the machine you were able to clone (at some point)?

Please doublecheck there is no typo in the repository URL as well.

I am experiencing this same issue.   The Repo is cloned on multiple machines, but I have one user with Maintainer access that is unable to clone this repo.   Please help
