We have a newly deployed bitbucket server. We are trying to push a repo from a rhat server with GIT 1.71.0 to this newly deployed bitbucket server with git 2.22.0, and we are receiving the following error.

error: The requested URL returned error: 501 while accessing url
fatal: HTTP request failed

Any ideas?

Hi @Tamer Eldin,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

You need to upgrade Git on your Linux server, Bitbucket does not support 1.7.1 Git clients. See Git 1.7.1 is Not Supported by Bitbucket Server for more information. You can also find the supported clients here,
