Hi Devi,

One possible reason is that your local repo does not have all the branches/commits that the Bitbucket repo does. Another possible reason is that the remote repo has some dangling commits and/or a git gc hasn't run on the remote repo.

If you give me the URL of the repo, I can run a git gc on it and this may help to reduce its size. If you don't feel comfortable sharing the URL publicly, you can open a ticket with Bitbucket Cloud support team and request for a git gc on the repo. You can open a ticket via https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/, in "What can we help you with?" select "Technical issues and bugs" and then Bitbucket Cloud as product and also mention the URL of the repo.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

Kind regards,
Theodora
