Why can't I clone a bitbucket repository even if credentials are correct?

mladen_kalinic June 17, 2019

So I ran this on my server:

ssh -T git@bitbucket.org

And got "You can use git or hg to connect to Bitbucket. Shell access is disabled." It also said: "This deploy key has read access to the following repositories:" - listing the repository that I needed to clone.

And I would still get the "Permission denied" error when I tried to git clone the repository it said I have access to.

Hello Mladen,

Thank you for including the steps taken prior to the cloning attempt and the error message when attempting to clone. We would like to understand a bit more around the error message to understand where the denied response is coming from. Could you please include the entire response with the error you get when attempting to clone? Additionally, could you confirm other SSH operations are successful with bitbucket? We want to rule out an issue with the key before moving forward.

We look forward to hearing back to help ensure you’re able to clone your repo.

Regards,
Stephen Sifers
