Why Authentication failed from git bash

When I am trying to push my changes to remote repository I am getting the error: fatal: Authentication failed for <repo-url>. Please help. Thanks in advance

I think that additional info will help to understand and solve the issue.

Are you using SSH or HTTPS? What type of password are you using? Which version of git bash? You mentioned that you have local changes, does that mean you can pull from the repo?
