Hey guys,

When trying to create a branch on Bitbucket from Jira through create branch link in the ticket, I pressed the link and it shows me a 401 access denied error. What should I set up/change to make it work properly?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Nikola

Hi Nikola and welcome to the community!

A 401 error indicates an issue with authentication. Has your Bitbucket admin granted you access to Bitbucket and are you logged in to Bitbucket?

Are you using Bitbucket Server/Data Center or Bitbucket Cloud? In case it is Bitbucket Cloud, I can see there is a Bitbucket Cloud account with the email of your community account, but it doesn't have access to any workspaces and repos.

Kind regards,
Theodora

Hey @Theodora Boudale

Thanks for the welcoming message!

I have access to the Bitbucket and the repos needed. I'm using Bitbucket Cloud. Thanks in advance!

Kind regards,

Nikola

Hi Nikola!

1. Are you using a Bitbucket Cloud account with a different email than your community account?

As I mentioned in my previous reply, the Bitbucket Cloud account with the same email as your community account does not have access to any workspaces and repos.

If you are using an account with a different email, can you please log in to https://community.atlassian.com/ with that email when you leave a reply? This way I can check the permissions of the account you are using.

2. Are you using Jira Cloud as well or Jira Server/Data Center?

3. What browser are you using when you get this error and what is the version of this browser?

Is the issue reproducible in an Incognito/Private window and in a different browser?

Kind regards,
Theodora
