Are there any differences in how FishEye and Crucible work between the systems?

FishEye supports the following Version Control Systems (as per the Supported Platforms documentation):

  • Subversion
  • CVS
  • Perforce
  • Git
  • Mercurial
  • IBM ClearCase (Note: Support for ClearCase will end on April 4th 2012, after which ClearCase functionality will be removed from newer versions of FishEye)

There is little difference between how FishEye handles each VCS, however there are minor configuration details in configuring these repositories. Please see the Adding a Repository documentation for more information.

Annecdotally, most customers use Subversion while more of our customer base is moving towards DVCS (Mercurial and Git).

NB: As of posting this, Git submodules are not supported, and do not work with FishEye. We found out the hard way!
