Bitbucket's UI shows an error when attempting to view filenames with brackets in them (e.g. "[foobar].ts").  This defect effects both the diff view as well as the source code view in the repository, and hinders our ability to review code in PR's.

Has anyone found a solution for this?

G'day!

I have not been able to reproduce the issue that you have specified, I created a file called [foobar].txt with text and was able to see this without issue both in src view and viewing the diff after creating a PR.

Are you able to provide more information in regards to the exact scenario you are experiencing?

Cheers!

Thank you for attempting to reproduce Ben.  Please see my screenshots below.  Our Bitbucket version is a little out of date as well (Atlassian Bitbucket v5.8.2) so it's possible it was fixed in a later release.

Hi again,

My apologies - you had tagged this ticket as "Bitbucket Cloud" so I was answering from a Bitbucket Cloud standpoint as I am an employee working on that team.

I would suggest raising your query again with the bitbucket-server tag as I am not familiar with supporting this product, this is to ensure that this is visible to that team and to make sure your query is answered.

Cheers!

Hello~

This issue was also seen in version '7.21.7' - in our case, it was square brackets and the directory name containing the file, not the file itself. Is there anything you know about that case? (Note: it didn't happen in '8.9.0' - it's not the same server, it's a separate server, so it's possible that it's OS affected, but there could be other factors).

If there is anything further confirmed or known, we'd appreciate it if you could share.
