Syntax to search a Bitbucket repo for a string such as "structname.member"

This  document indicates that all punctuation is removed from search strings.

Is there a proper way to search for code fragments that include these characters?

Examples:

1. A 'C' struct or union and a specific member (structidentifier.member)
2. A variable with a not operator (~variableidentifier)
3. Any code sequence that includes punctuation

The best solution I have found is use gitlab instead of Bitbucket.
