Hi all,
I have a question concerning tags syncing between the original and forked repository in the bitbucket cloud (bitbucket.org):
- I forked from the original repository at master branch tag 2.0 (let's say)
- Some changes were committed in the original repo's master branche with the tags 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3
- I sync the repositories with the "sync"-Button in the cloud-UI.
The commits appear in the fork but the tags 2.1 to 2.3 are missing. The tags up to 2.0 are visible.
Is there a possibility to sync also the tags that were added after the original fork?
Thanks a lot for support.
G'day, @Christopher Pfindel
Welcome to the community!
Unfortunately, the sync operation only fetches commits into the downstream repository and does not include tags. I haven't come across any feature requests for this functionality yet. If you could share your use case and explain why you need this feature, I would happily help raise a request for it.

Hi @Syahrul
thanks for your answer.
Our use case is as follows:
- we develop our central code and push it to our upstream repository
- for each plant our software is controlling a customization is required. To keep the number of branches low but keep the possibility for updates for each plant a fork repository is created where the customization is done in an own branch.
- for updates of the central code the repositories are synced, and we recognized that tags are not synced but stay at the state of forking.
- we use tags to signal our bugfix version
It would be useful to see the current bugfix version also in the downstream repo.
A request would be highly welcome.
Thank you and regards
Christopher
