Subversion Edge - LDAP - Active Directory

Lyall Pearce

I am having problems configuring Subversion Edge Release: 3.3.2 to talk to Active Directory.

I have Jira working just fine.

I have Conflunce working with Jira

It would be nice if I could configure Subversion Edge to use Jira as well.

During my attempts to get Subversion Edge working, I performed a wireshark capture of the LDAP traffic generated by Subversion Edge and I see the expected search, but I see an unexpected filter clause which, based on my limited understanding, would preclude finding any users, let alone authenticating them.

Filter: (&(&(objectCategory=Person)(sAMAccountName=*))(sAMAccountName=Confluence - localhost - bfecf66d-d625-340c-8906-89de24a09e27))

The Base Object appears to be quite ok, the main filter seems ok, it's the addition of the "Confluence - localhost - UID" which I don't understand.

Any assistance would be gratefully received.

Well, it appears I was somewhat confused.

I had successfully made subversion use AD, but what I could not get to work was the actual Subversion Edge console to authenticate using AD.

I still can't get the console to work using AD but that is less important.
