I am unable to connect my sourceTree coz I use my uni account and password to logging into bitBucket through shared lind.

Now I got logging problems on username/ password , I don't even know my password.

Could you please explain the difference between sourceTree and bitBucket?A nd how can I log in in my sourceTree ?

  Cheers

Hi Xuan Ye, welcome to the Community!

Sourcetree is a Git desktop client (so you don't have to use the terminal). Bitbucket is a repository hosting service for source code that use either Mercurial or Git.

When you install Sourcetree, you need to complete the registration before being able to use it. To register you can use either a Bitbucket Server or a Bitbucket Cloud account.

You said you're having logging problems because you don't know your password, are you referring to your Bitbucket Cloud password? In that case please click on the 'Can't login' option from the Bitbucket log in page so you can set a new password. It is important for you that you know your password, and it's a matter of security.

Once you have it, you'll be able to complete the Sourcetree registration and you'll be free to use it. If you need any additional assistance, don't hesitate to let us know :)

Best regards,

Ana
