Hi,
I'm the admin of a Bitbucket Cloud and a Slack workspace. I've installed Bitbucket Cloud app at Slack app manager, and run /bitbucket login to login. At Bitbucket done this: Repo settings -> chat notification settings -> add subscription -> save
After it, if there is any puch, commit, pull-requests I get info about it to the Slack channel I have set.
But one of our users told me this: If he put a Bitbucket link to a slack channel he always gets this message:
"Looks like you've just shared a link to a private repository! To display content from links like that right from Slack, link your Bitbucket Cloud account."
What is the problem? How can I solve this?
Thank you,
Tom
Hi Tom!
The user who's having the error hasn't authenticated their Slack account with Bitbucket. The Bitbucket app is trying to resolve the link it sees, but isn't sure if the Slack user has permission to be looking at the repo (because the accounts aren't connected yet).
Luckily the fix is pretty easy - the user just needs to type /bitbucket login in Slack and the app will guide them through connecting their Slack account with Bitbucket.
More reading, if you're interested in how the connector works and the available commands: Bitbucket Cloud for Slack
Cheers,
Daniel
