SImple instructions on using Bitbucket and Sourcetree to generate and upload a ssh key?

Grant Kemp January 3, 2014

Is there any simple instructions that show the process of creating an ssh key using sourcetree for windows ( via the tools menu) and uploading that key to Bitbucket.

Whenever I try upload the key to bitbucket it just says invalid key.

All the current docuementation seem to go in circles and recommend using command line.

If you need to use command line- why include the feature in the tools menu for sourcetree for windows?

Please make sure you're uploading the public key to Bitbucket and not the private key.

[edit] I just tested this with SourceTree 1.3.3.0 on Windows 7 and it worked fine. You shouldn't need to touch the command line in order to accomplish this.
