Restore Client system.zip missing

P July 22, 2017

Hey,

I want to restore a backup from a bitbucket 4.8.3 instance to a new 4.8.3 instance on a different server.

When using the Bitbucket Backup Client, it gives this output in debugging mode:

2017-07-22 16:49:03,453 INFO Initializing
2017-07-22 16:49:05,594 INFO Unpacking bitbucket.tar to /var/atlassian/application-data/bitbucket_restore
2017-07-22 16:49:14,673 D Unpacking system backup to /var/atlassian/application-data/bitbucket_restore/shared
2017-07-22 16:49:14,700 ERROR bitbucket.tar could not be restored
java.io.FileNotFoundException: /var/atlassian/application-data/bitbucket_restore/system.zip (No such file or directory)
at java.io.RandomAccessFile.open0(Native Method) ~[na:1.8.0_131]
at java.io.RandomAccessFile.open(RandomAccessFile.java:316) ~[na:1.8.0_131]
... 13 more frames available in the log file

Can I force to ignore this issue somehow and get to the repositories ?

Same issue, but there was no apparent fix for it online:

Thanks.

Hi Pascal, looks like the zip file doesn't exist in that location and the restore failed. You'll need to move it there and point the client to it.

Can you confirm that you've followed all the steps at Using the Bitbucket Server Backup Client?

Best regards,

Ana

Hi Ana,

the docs doesnt say anything about system.zip.
How/Where do I create this file and why is it needed when I want to restore to a different server entirely?
