Hi, we are running the on-prem version of bitbucket. unfortunately, we have installed v7.12 which is not supported since Jan 2020 for on-prem server installs.
is there a way we can revert to our previous v6.10 easily? what is the last supported version we can run on-prem until we are ready to move to the cloud?
Hi,
What makes you think that 7.12 is not supported for on-premise server installations? While you can't buy Server licenses anymore if you have an existing license with active maintenance you can still run Bitbucket Server 7.12 on premise.
Downgrading is not possible in Bitbucket Server unless you revert the database and shared home directory to the state before the upgrade, for instance by restoring a backup.

Hi Christian,
When I upgraded to 7.12, i got a banner along the top that said our licence did not support on premise since jan 2021. We were allowed to pull from the repo's but not push.
is this not the case?
thanks
Peter

Hi Peter,
It sounds like maintenance on your license may have expired, which limits which versions you can upgrade to (in essence you can upgrade to any version that was released on or before the day your maintenance expired).
At this point your options are to revert to the previous version from backup or purchasing a Data Center license for your instance so you can continue to run on 7.1.2.
Cheers,
