Query for inactive or idle users

Peter Johansson February 1, 2019

Hi,

I would like to get information on last active for users in Bitbucket Cloud. Same way as it is in Jira.

To my understanding it is possible in Bitbucket Server -> https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserverkb/query-for-inactive-or-idle-users-779171719.html

I've also found https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Bitbucket-questions/how-to-query-the-inactive-users-from-last-1year/qaq-p/626808 that refers to the Bitbucket APIs but I can't find any info on how to retrive last active for users.

Is this possible for Bitbucket Cloud?

Kind regards,
Peter

Hi Peter!

This is not possible for Bitbucket Cloud, as in Cloud you can't manage other users. In Server there is a user management system where an admin can create/administer some other users accounts, plus they're hosted in their server, whereas in Cloud each one is admin for their own account and that info is not shared to others.

Hope this explains!

Hi Ana,

Yes, it is an explanation but it doesn't solve my problem. And I don't really see the connection to that "in Cloud each one is admin for their own account and that info is not shared to others".

If I have a team in Bitbucket and more than 100 users on the team it's easy to miss if someone quits and shouldn't have access. I can see all users on my plan but not when they last access with their account. Similar view as is available for Jira would help a lot.

Kind regards,
Peter
