Pulling down a very large repository

Jake Wasdin April 21, 2015

We have a repository that has some very large metadata files do some mistakes.

I have written a bash script to retroactively remove these files from the git history, which we have tested on some projects.

However, this project is over 1GB and we are unable to pull it down. After some time, this error will occur, as well as in SourceTree:

How can I pull down this large repository?

Have you tried to pull it down using the ssh protocol instead of https ?

Seth, thank you for the good resource. I don't know that I see anything especially about actually pulling down the entirety of the repository. I need to do that at least once, and I can't seem to get Bitbucket to let me!
