Prevent users to push to branches

Lionel MURATORE January 18, 2021

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to restrict one of my group (called 'etudes') to push new commits on some branches ("master" and "release"), but I want to let them the right to push under other branches like "features". Moreover I want that my other group (called 'dev') keeps the defautl rights.

On project level:

I added read and write rights for the both groups.
I added "branch permissions" on branch by model "release" and check "prevent all changes" except for group 'dev'.
But both groups ("dev" and "etudes") still have the right to push commits under "release"

So I remove the write right on boths group (I just let the read right and the branch permission), none of them can push commit anymore. So "branch permission" is only restriction like said in documentation, but I don't understand how to work with it.

Did I made a mistake?
Is this feature really supported on BitBucket Server, or is it only for Cloud version?

Best regards,

Lionel
