Pipeline stuck on "Queued"

One of our repos won't build. The pipeline just says "Queued" and there is no output in the log panel, just a spinner. 

It built successfully 2 days ago and nothing has changed in the build config. I've tested another repo which is working fine.  I've tried cancelling and rerunning the build, creating a fresh branch etc.

It's a front end project, the build step uses a cypress docker image, and the first line in the script is yarn install.  No idea where to start debugging as there is no output at all! So any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

There was a temporary instability in the platform where pipeline builds were getting queued for some time.

Our engineering team has identified the issue, and a fix has already been deployed, so the pipeline builds should be working successfully now.

I'm having the same problem on almost every build

I am having the same issue today. My repo built just fine yesterday, but today it is stuck in "Queued" with no log output. I tried stopping and rerunning the pipeline, but it is the same. In fact, in the rerun I am not even sure of the status as no status shows for the first step of the pipeline, at least in the UI. Though there is no progress of any kind.

There was no change in build configuration since the last successful build.

This seems to be fixed now (no action on my part). Just left a pipeline in hanging state and it seemed to have resumed after a while.

I ran another build and seems to work fine.
