Are you certain the user comes from Active Directory? It should specify what directory the user comes from in the '/admin/users' area.

this particular user was already present in Stash before migration from AD

Doesn't matter. If the user is shadowed and the wrong directory is Higher than the External Active Directory, Stash will find the wrong directory user.

What directory is the user from. You can EASILY see from the /admin/users page. Look and confirm.

Hi @amit agrawal,

As I understand from your post, you have an external directory in stash which syncs from an AD server and you are unable to login with a username which exists in the AD.

As seen from the user details you have provided, it appears you have a user with the same username, pkumar, in the internal directory of stash but possibly with a different password.

Now, with multiple directories, stash will search them for a username in a top-down order as displayed on the User Directories page.

One way to test this is to switch the order of the directories.

Go to Administration area > User Directories and change the order of directories using the up and down arrows under Order column. Here's example of this:image2014-11-14 9_37_43.png

Now, try to login again with the username and let us know if this helps.
