Move repository to another bitbucket repository

Hi,

I have two repositories in my bitbucket account, say A (a.git) and another is b.bitbucket.io (b.bitbucket.io.git).

How do I move the code in repository A to repository b.bitbucket.io ? (This would help host a static website).

Thanks in advance.

Hi Gleto, I'm not sure I understand your question. If you want to move the code from a repo to the other, would a copy and paste suffice? Could you clone the repo and give it a different name?

Please elaborate a bit more so we can get a better idea of what you're trying to achieve and can help you.

Best regards!

Ana

Thank you. I haven't tried the copy and paste, because I wasn't sure if the history would be copied as well.

I have a project (a folder named B) under gleto.bitbucket.io repository and I am able to access it via https://gleto.bitbucket.io/B/index.html. I would like to move another project (folder A --> whose remote url is https://gleto@bitbucket.org/gleto/A.git) also into gleto.bitbucket.io so I can access it via https://gleto.bitbucket.io/A/index.html. Would a copy paste suffice in this case?

Hi Gleto! Hi! The history is saved in the .git directory of your repository. I'm assuming you have this repo locally in your machine, so my advice would be import this code as a new repo in your Bitbucket Server account, so you get it as it is, including the history. For detailed steps, you can read Importing code from an existing project.

If you don't have this repo locally yet, you can clone it from Bitbucket following the instructions at Clone a repository.

Let us know if you have any more question :)

Best regards,

Ana

Thank you Ana. That helped!

Glad to hear that :)

Have a good day!

Ana
