Migrating bitbucket repositories from one bitbucket installation to another ?

Ulf Kvistborg March 20, 2019

We have a few bitbucket installations server and datacenter and we want to migrate the repositories over a longer period from one installation to another installation. We can of course migrate the content and the commit history as per the normal git functions.

But what about the meta data on pull requests active and old ? we want to take it repository by repository, sometimes project by project, including all the meta data if possible.

Hey Ulf,

Just wanted to make you aware (if you haven't already seen it) of the Bitbucket Data Center migration tool that's available in Bitbucket 5.14 and up. It's announced here, the official documentation shows you what's available, and it's officially supported by Atlassian. It handles the extra bits like pull requests!

Check it out and I hope it helps with your consolidation efforts.

Cheers,
Daniel
