Hi all

I can see a couple of posts on migrating from Windows to Linux, but none in the reverse direction...

We currently have bitbucket server on Linux (5.9) but not many people with Linux skillset so whilst looking at upgrading to 7.6 occurred to me it might be a good time to also migrate the server to windows which we can more easily maintain.

A) is this possible?

B) How do we do it? :)

Actual Bitbucket DB is hosted on SQL Server currently and would stay there

Any guidance appreciated!

Hi @Ian Manton ,

it's pretty straightforward if you only need to migrate the install and home dir. First you would need to download the same version as the one installed on Linux but for Windows and install it. Then once installed, just copy the Linux bitbucket home directory to Windows and restart it.

I would also advise looking at this documentation : https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/migrating-bitbucket-server-to-another-server-776640406.html

Let me know if this helps,
