Hi everyone,

I am using Bitbucket's free plan, but I can't see the option to create tasks or use the Issue Tracker for my repository. I have tried the following steps:

  1. Checked repository settings to enable the Issue Tracker (but couldn't find the option).
  2. Confirmed I have admin permissions for the repository.
  3. Cleared my browser cache and tried different browsers.
  4. Made sure the repository type is Git and not Mercurial.

Despite these efforts, the Issues tab or any task creation option is still not visible.

Can anyone guide me on how to resolve this issue? Is it possible that the Issue Tracker feature is not available in the free plan, or could there be another problem?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi and welcome to the community!

This has nothing to do with the workspace's billing plan. Issue trackers are not supported in repositories that belong to workspaces administered through https://admin.atlassian.com/. All new workspaces in Bitbucket Cloud are now created only via https://admin.atlassian.com/.

The issue tracker feature is only available to repositories belonging to older workspaces that were not created via https://admin.atlassian.com/.

You can look into using Jira instead:

You can integrate Bitbucket with Jira. You can see in the following link several features that are available if you integrate the two products:

Kind regards,
Theodora
