Is there any way to allow non-admin project/repo user to lock branch (set branch permission) ?

Hi,

Is there any way to allow user to set branch permission (Lock branch) without providing Admin access of Project/Repository to that users ? Any API / Command Line way ?

Please suggest.

Detailed Explanation :

We need to provide access to few CM members to lock particular branch during build and unlock it after build. So in order to lock particular branch in Bit-bucket we need to apply "Prevent all changes, except by" branch permission to be set.

Now only Project Admin / Repository Admin can set branch permission.

So, Is it possible to allow bit-bucket user to set Branch Permission ( I want "Prevent all changes, except by:" permission to be set by user mainly for locking branch) without providing Admin access of that Repository / Project to that user ? Any API / Command Line way ?

Regards,

Hardik

Hi Hardik, I'm afraid that's not possible, adding branch permissions requires project or repo admin permissions as explained at  Using branch permissions.

Hi @Ana Retamal

Is there any new update available on this? any APIs through which we can automate this?

The method mentioned in the link that you pasted doesn't meet our needs as,

1. It needs repo admin permission

2. The branch restrictions are based on pattern and not individual branches.

Happy to provide more information on this if needed.

Thank you
