Is there a way to require that a pull request be approved before allowing a branch to be merged into?

I would like to require that all merges into develop and master have approved pull requests. How can I do this in BitBucket?

I don't understand why this hasn't been implemented yet.

It's the reason there are code reviews on pull requests, so why allow people to simply go ahead and merge stuff without making sure it has been approved.

This should really be a basic feature of the access management settings.
