Is there a setting that would allow a cache to be permanent unless invalidated by a key/manually?
It is not possible to extend the cache expiry past seven days.
We recently released a feature for caches that allows a stored cache to be updated when a dependency is updated:
Caches still expire after seven days though. We have a feature request for configurable TTL for the cache:
I would suggest adding your vote to the features request (by selecting the Vote for this issue link) to express your interest. You are more than welcome to leave a comment with feedback and also add yourself as a watcher (by selecting the Start watching this issue link) if you'd like to get notified via email on updates. Implementation of new features is done as per our policy here and any updates will be posted in the feature request.
