I need to import an open-source project from GitHub to bitbucket to allow for customization of the project as part of a larger product. We will be making changes to the open-source base but will want to be able to merge updated features and fixes from time to time.
This scenario is discussed with some possible options here - https://stackoverflow.com/questions/8137997/forking-from-github-to-bitbucket
That post is a bit older and I wanted some more current advice for this use case. We do not anticipate contributing to the original open-source project.
Hi @Bob Chesley ,
If I got your question right would the following link might solve your problem:

Looking forward to your feedback.
Best
Stefan
Hi @Stefan Salzl I had seen that link. The wrinkle here is that we still want to be able to merge bug fixes and enhancements from the original source repo easily but use our new master for our changes.

so to get that clear:
You would like to eg. develop in github-repo and then cherry-pick/merge things to bitbucket-repo?
