I'm moving to a new email provider (Proton) and it offers a built-in feature called "proxy email addresses".
So, I issued a proxy address to use as my email for Atlassian (atlassian@alias.my-domain.dev - I replaced the domain for privacy)
Atlassian tells me:
Hey @Vova Lantsov
Welcome to the community!
The error message you see is likely because your email proxy uses an invalid fully qualified domain name; hence, it was not allowed.
You can check Wikipedia to further understand about valid FQDN at:

Hi @Syahrul
I'm 100% sure that my domain meets the criteria for an FQDN. I think the problem is related to email backend validation. Either it doesn't allow .dev domains or doesn't allow using text "atlassian" in any part of the email address or has some restrictions on what characters can be used for the domain (just in case, mine contains a hyphen).

Hey @Vova Lantsov
Interestingly, I did some tests and had no issue changing to a test dummy email with Atlassian or .dev domain.
Could you raise a support ticket in our support portal under update account options at https://support.atlassian.com/contact/

Syahrul
